I’m putting this out there for the parents who might be very concerned for their children and considering if Visions is a good choice. As someone who spent two years at the facility, had my family move across the country, and was consistently degraded and manipulated, please. Do not send your child there. There are many, many ways to help a teen struggling with mental health and addiction. Sending them away to a place like this is going to cause greater harm in the long run, I promise you. I am sharing these words because I genuinely don’t want to see so many teens who need help and love, get restricted and hurt from the visions staff and facilities. I am 23 now and living a better life than I ever thought would be possible. My experience at Visions made me feel like a prisoner and a lost cause. They convinced me I was an addict, when I haven’t touched a substance. Made me work a 12-step program that only led me to confusion and question who I was. Many teens need therapy, love, care, and support. Before sending your child to visions, please know that this was not the case for me and MANY others.

Overall good experience, was here as 16-17 year old in 2021. The counselor staff that were with the residents 24/7 were good majority very great people who were very caring and supportive to be around. The clinical staff was good too however there were some symptoms I was presenting at the time that were overlooked and have become a greater issue as I grew older and it would have been helpful if it would have been worked on sooner though I do understand this program was working mainly on treating addiction so I understand why it wasn’t focused on. All in all I would recommend and say it is a great program it just may have not been the exactly right one for me I don’t think that is at fault of the program more the hospital that referred me there. Good vibes in the house, everyone normally got along well, I still have friends from when I was there and they have a great alumni program that includes a weekly 12 step meeting for current residents and alumni together and fun trips planned for alumni and the current residents too.

I cannot imagine a better treatment center (although that is not the way I felt my first month or so there). They do an incredible job in every aspect- family therapy, mental health, 12 step etc. Getting sober has been by far the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and the foundation for a great life.
